  • This is such a quiet and almost magical image ... the details and contrast of the snowflakes on the dark red mane are fabulous, and even though it is a simple image, the viewer's eye is always drawn back to find more details in the snow flakes against the glorious red mane. Nicely done, and congrats!

  • Thank you so much for your kind words and choosing my photo! My name is Anna Panke and I am a professional equine and dog photographer from Germany. That photo was taken a couple of years back with a Canon EOS 5DIV and the EF 70-200mm 2.8L. It was such a magical day with the horses in the snow.

  • This is a fabulous captured, inviting the viewer to imagine the scene and wonder what this horse is reacting to. The flared nostril, the white of the eye and the toss of its mane accentuate the action and the tension in this image. Nicely done!

  • This is a wonderful captured and everything about this image works ... the shallow depth of field allows full focus on the horse emerging from the low bushes ... the pose captured is perfection with the arched neck and mane. Nicely captured and managed in post.

  • What a fabulous and focused study of this horse ... the low-key approach to this image and the shallow depth of field makes it seem as though the horse is emerging from the image, and the perfect centeredness of the image and the horse intensifies it's low stare at the camera. Nicely done!

  • This is a lovely black-and-white study of this horse. The shallow depth of field allows the details of his calm face to stand out, and with the flipped back ear we can almost imagine him snoozing. Nicely done.
