  • What a great honor! I am Aurora and this my 5 year old wee one and 1 year old black Labrador Retriever. This photo was taken in the afternoon in our backyard. We reside in California's Central Valley. Living in a warm climate we cool off however we can. What started out as a dog bath for our black Labrador Retriever turned into a splash fest for these two. It was my wee one's idea to put the swimming goggles on our dog and to my surprise she just sat there and looked up. It made for a priceless image. Captured using my Canon 5D Mark III, Canon EF 35mm f/1.4 at f/8, ISO 3200, 1/320 second. Processed in Lightroom 5. Thank you for choosing my image!

  • “Sad Shooter” by Ellen Alabach Goodman – St. Louis, MO. I am honored and thrilled to receive this Mark of Excellence. This photo is of my daughter, shot outside our home. Her preschool teacher had just loaned me her Pentax 6x7 film camera. I loaded some Ilford HP5 into the Pentax and a roll into the Holga which she is holding. About 3 or 4 shots in, she decided she had had enough. I started to put the camera down to give her a hug, saw that precious expression and decided to take a quick shot, it became my favorite off the roll. Ilford HP5 - Pentax 6x7. Thank you for the honor and congratulations to Aurora and the others who received a Mark of Excellence, many great photos in the competition.

  • First, please allow me to congratulate the winner on an excellent photo. Great job! Congratulations to all the Mark Of Excellence winners! I'm very honored to be amongst them all. My name is Robert Jones and I currently live in Columbus, Ga. I captured this image of my nephew while on a visit back home to Illinois last winter. We were very fortunate to have one day of warm weather so I took him outside to play. He was so excited to finally go out and ride his new scooter he let out a huge shout of happiness. This image was taken with my Nikon D800 and 50mm 1.8G lens. For post processing I used Silver Efex Pro. Thanks again!

  • Greetings from Granbury, Texas. I am thrilled beyond words to have received this honor. Thank you so very much Judge Lisa Alessandra Kutzelnig! I discovered my passion for photography late in life, only four years ago. I recently upgraded my camera and shoot with the Canon 5D Mark III. My camera goes everywhere with me for you just never know when that perfect moment will present itself. This capture is one of those moments. Taken in my kitchen this past Christmas as my daughter and grandchildren were making Christmas cookies...my camera and grand daughter were in perfect sync as she tilted her head back in joyous laughter. Precious memories to be enjoyed for years to come.

  • Hi, My name is Julia Dean and I am a documentary photographer and street shooter living in Los Angeles. I took this picture in Nicaragua while on assignment for Maryknoll Magazine, a Catholic publication. I climbed over a lot of barbed-wire fences this particular day, with two nuns as my guides. I was using my trusty Leica M6 with TriX film.

  • My name is Alli Cheatwood and I am a photographer in Covington, Louisiana. My daughter has always been cautious of the big horses at her grandma and grandpa's house. This was the first time she decided to feed one of the horses some clover like she had watched her big brother do many times before. Thank you so much for the mark of excellence!
