  • A narrow Depth of Field gives a great three dimensional feel to this image. We enjoy it very much!

  • The angle how the photographer chose to shoot these flowers is unusual. There is a lightness to these flowers, and seeing an open sky is great.

  • Thank you so much for this Mark Of Excellence. And many thanks to this wunderfull Flower "Centaurea montana". It makes me very happy for i just began to develop a passion in photografy of flowers. These blussoms were turning to the last evening sun in my garden. This was my aim to express. There was no post processing made. My name is Susan Gaul and i live in a small village named Kirchardt in south Germany. Because I´m an absolute beginner :-) there is no website to look at. :-(. The camera i used was a Fuji X100.

  • This photos is definitely one of the most artistic images, which were submitted to the I Shot It Flower competition. The shadow is dominant and can not be ignored. Fantastic!

  • Rich and dark shades of purple and black make this photo outstanding. The flower is abstract and does not have a lot of juice left in its petals. Truly amazing and wonderful.

  • Thank you so much for this honor!! My name is Nicki Lautemann and I live in Colorado, USA. I took this photo on my back porch in the fall of 2013. I loved the colors of this flower throughout its whole life and when its time came, I thought the curling petals were so awesome. That top right one reminds me of shaved chocolate....mmmmmm. :) I used my Nikon d3100 with an old 50mm in reverse. That particular lens is stuck open at 5.6 and I used the on camera flash at 1/32 power. (shutter at 1/200 and ISO of 100) Thank you again. I'm so grateful!

  • Sometimes we get a black and white submission, which is fantastic. This photo has got it all. It seems to be raining hard and the flower is clear and strong. Well seen and executed.

  • Hi all, my name is Vicki Dillon from Missouri, USA, and I am honored to receive a 'Mark of Excellence'. This picture was taken with the use of my Cannon Rebel XT. I utilized the crepe paper they wrap around the flowers as the red backdrop with an easel holding it loosely, so as to let it have a rough textured look, and just a flashlight with all other lights out in the room. They say it takes many shots to get the desired 'one' and I found this to be true. I tried many different compositions, of these 3 roses, before finding what I was looking for.

  • We like how this flower was photographed. It is bold with strong colors and contrast. Also that it is shown from its back makes this an unusual and attractive photo.
