The high saturation here could have come from a dusk time photograph, or maybe the low light from a heavy sky was enough to make the colours pop. The natural contrast is pretty low, you have developed it nicely, and you have controlled the lighting throughout, the soft grad gives presence to the striking red of the foreground plant.
