Here is a straight forward and beautifully honest photograph. You have managed the difficult light cleverly, shadows and highlights welcomingly respected, making it an integral part of your composition. Importantly, you have photographed the resulting image whilst on the ground with minimal digital fiddling and that has helped you win this round. You have succeeded in creating a lovely textured dreamscape image whilst keeping the forest atmosphere natural. This is Beautiful, well done.

Wow! Thanks so much. My girlfriend and I were driving through the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park in northern California early one morning last month when sunshine started pouring through the tall trees. I parked the truck, jumped out and started making photos from the narrow road. Eventually, I disappeared into the woods. The trees were giant, the ferns were giant. I felt like a tiny person. I kept moving, stopping and making photos. There were so many photo ops, so I just kept shooting. After about 30 minutes the moment was gone. I did minimal adjustments in Lightroom, only to make the photo resemble what I actually saw that morning. Nikon d7200, Nikon 10-24mm set at 10mm, f8, 1/320 shutter speed, ISO 1000.
