Choosing a winning image was very easy this time as I was instantly captivated by this colourful action shot of Pochard fleeing from a hunting Marsh Harrier. From a nature viewpoint, the image sums up the spectacle by both recording the behaviour and depicting the habitat in which it took place. From a photographic perspective, the rich lighting, dynamic poses, low shooting angle and strong composition all add to the impact. Overall, this is an accomplished capture of a rarely-seen event.

Thanks a lot for the award !! I am very honored !! I am Kallol Mukherjee , a wildlife photographer from India, major works have been done on wildlife (birds, to be specific) and butterflies other than landscape and peoples.. The image was taken from a boat in the wetland of Tista river , India. It was early morning and the Marsh Harrier was flying low and we were trying to follow the bird with the very small manual boat...suddenly the Marsh Harrier came down to catch the common pochard and I took couple of shots.. Taken with Nikon D850 & Nikon 300 f/4 + 1.4 TC II. f5.6, 1/2500 sec, ISO 800.
