Two of the grizzly shots were hard to separate this time, this one just squeezing in before the other thanks to the colourful flying caviar. Great action, well done.

Ph. Marco Poggioni. Thank you for the Marks of Excellence. Kurile Lake is a large lake in the south of Kamchatka, a remote region in the east of Russia. At the end of summer a great amount of sockeye salmons reaches the lake to lay their eggs up the numerous streams that flow into the lake. Dozens of bears await the arrival of the salmons along the banks of the lake, and begin a real slaughter. Nikon D3S with Nikon 200-400mm f4 lens.
