This is a stunning and surprising picture right into the mouth of the very rare snow leopard. I am puzzled as to how you managed this, the proximity, the snow, the dark, the flash, the misty atmosphere and of course that yawn, all coming together beautifully. The result is striking. I suppose this is from a remote camera trap (?) in which case your research and camera management have proven to be priceless. You are this round’s worthy winner congratulations!

Thank you so much for selecting my photo! This is a captive snow leopard that is part of the Species Survival Plan at the Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange, NJ. The misty background was created by using a texture layer and the leopard was naturally lit by the snow that was on the ground. I used a Canon 7D and a Canon 100-400L lens.
