This competition’s winner shows wonderful colour treatment, a great blurred background standing in contrast to the crisp flower in the foreground, as well as sensitive composition. This photograph shows it all, it reminds the judge of an image from the 70th! Thank you for submitting, and congratulation to this superb image.

I'm very happy that my photo got the first price! I shot this photo in a park in Berlin. The following equipment was used: Sony Alpha 77, Tamron 5.0-6.3 / 150-600 mm and a monopod. The light at this August evening was just amazing. Post processing was done with Apple Aperture. Thanks! Jörg Franzen
