Its simple, its black and white, its framed well and its well shot, I love this image and its simplicity and form. Well done to the photographer for shooting with such creative and open mind to do this, it has paid off well and had to be in the top 5 for sure!

Thank you for the kind commentary, congratulations to the winner. My name is Matthias Pfau. I took this photo in down town Chicago on Randolph and State, on a evening walk home. The time of day is good for high contrast scenes. The photo was taken with a Leica M 240 and post processing included some increase in contrast and sharpness to enhance the road surface texture and cropping to makes the shadow the leading element.
