The atmosphere in this photo took us by our heart. Stories and daily life going on, on so many levels, inside and outside the photograph. Love it!

I would like to say congratulations to all the winners and thank you to the judges. I am honored to be amongst this group. My name is Julia Dean and I am a documentary photographer, street shooter and the executive director of the Los Angeles Center of Photography. This photo was taken in Havana, Cuba in 2002 during a travel workshop that I was teaching. I was using my Leica M6 with a 35mm F/1.4 lens and TriX film. The name of the photograph is "Street Scene in Havana."
