the beauty in this image is the light and simplicity. the additional story-telling quality of it makes it stand out. the viewer is left to wonder if the cat is waiting for his owner or if it is stalking a bird outside. nicely done. ~ illona

I was apartment sitting for a friend in Paris, the flat came with two wonderfully mischievous cats. I had to be vigilant about unattended windows, as one of the cats had fallen into the courtyard the year before. The cats were equally vigilant, always on the look out for adventure, and the promise of an open window. This was shot with my Canon 5D, EF 24-105MM f/4L lens. I am thrilled to receive a "Mark of Excellence", thank you!
