Here is a rare photograph. You have caught this genet with a lovely natural hunter’s attitude. Genets are most discreet, nocturnal carnivores, lithe and very cat-like, they have lovely "out of Africa" spots and ringed tail. They are indeed beautiful animals to photograph, and you have photographed one quite beautifully. It looks like a photo trap picture with an automatic exposure setting and flash..? Whatever, and how ever, you have set up the frame beautifully, catching a wonderful and wild portrait against the dark background bush, and under a starry moonlit night…The 10 or 15 second shutter speed creates the star trails, the flash freezes the instant. Very beautiful and equally interesting. Well done you win this round with this stunning image. (Story please!)

Mario Cea: This image was taken in Salamanca, Spain on a cold winter night when this genet toured its hunting territory. The image has a great work of enlightenment since flashes were used to illuminate the animal and afterwards during a long exposition it was finished illuminating the scene with the natural light of the moon. In order to capture in a one only image, the genet, the moon and the stars, it was necessary to work with a single shot of about 50 seconds of exposure, which made the work even more complicated. Also two different color temperatures were used, 2800ºk in camera to get that the sky was seen with blue tones and a second one in the flashes to which they were put to them gels of color of about 7500ºk to compensate and that the animal had its natural tone. This image have not post processing and is a only Raw. Canon EOS 5D Mark III - Canon 17-40mm - Trigger Pixel King Pro - Tripod and ball Benro - Flashes Godox - Exif date; 52s - f/4 - ISO 1000
