  • A timeless capture with deep shades of blue, with a little bit of the warmth of orange. The blurriness works well, keeping the main subject in focus. Congratulations to the winner of the first 'I Shot IT NOW!' photo competition!

  • Thanks for this honor! My name is Mark Rast. This is a pond in Mansfield, MA. The picture was taken using a Canon 5D Mark III. The lens was a Canon EF 16-35 paired with a 0.6ND grad filter. The diminished depth of field was done in post. I was originally trying to capture the sunset but arrived several minutes too late. That was a stroke of luck as it turned out, because the effect of shadows and magic hour glow made a charming image of these ice fishing young boys doing their best to enjoy the final moments of a cold winter afternoon.

  • What seems to be in the midst of a concrete jungle, a bit of hope. The painted butterfly goes perfectly in harmony with the green shirt that person is wearing. A lovely image, well composed.

  • Capturing motion can be tricky. This is a great example of doing it well. The person riding this horse freezes a moment, freezes the ’NOW’.

  • Could this be one capture, is is double exposed, or is it digitally enhanced? One photo asking multiple questions. Regardless of the outcome, it is amazing and captivates the viewers eye.

  • Could be a still from a movie. Or is it real life? This image asked for an explanation. It is well composed. Having colours slightly desaturated gives it a cinematic look.

  • My name is Laura Chiesa and this is a spontaneous street capture during Purim celebrations in Tel Aviv, when children and adults dress up in costumes and flock the streets of the city, as part of the festive celebrations. I pride myself in never staging pictures, never interfering with what is happening. Life is enough interesting as it is!

  • An almost perfect symmetry, created by these majestic creatures. This tender moment expresses so much, no words are needed. Body language says it all!

  • Thank you so much for the mark of excellence! My name is Lara Baeriswyl and I am an equine photographer from Switzerland. In Switzerland it is a tradition to send young horses to huge pastures together to socialize. I took this photo at a place like this. The foals are Freiberger or Franche-Montagne horses, a well known swiss breed. I took this photo two years ago with a Pentax K-1 and the Tamron 70-200mm F2.8.

  • A little bit surprised, how the young person looks at us. The kitten focused on the young person - a moment so perfect and tender. Red nail polish, red stripes on the top, and red trousers - how cool is that! And more red in the photo when looking a bit closer.

  • We wonder where we are, when observing this capture. Makes us feel we are part of it, diving into this unknown situation. A cool and curious capture this is, with lots of questions!
