  • This is such a simple yet beautiful image of a cat doing what so many cats love to do. The deep blacks and clean whites of this black and white conversion make it immediately striking to the viewer's eye, and then we are drawn in to examine the details ... the clean lines of the porcelain, the soft gleam of light off the tap, and mostly the glorious ruff of fur on cat's neck and tail, the details of his face, and the groomed fur along its side, spelling out the moments leading up to this cat's deep slumber. Nicely done, and congrats!

  • Hi, My name is Gabriel Pahontu and I am a photographer based in Bucharest, Romania. This is my cat sleeping in one of her favorite places. For this image I used a Sony A7III and a 24 mm f1.4 GM. Thank you very much for the award. It means a lot to me and I am very happy for your appreciation!

  • This is such a soft, almost magical image that reminds us of a film photo. The varying planes which define the depth of field - from the blurred and twisted branches in the foreground to the peaceful cat hidden and the leaves, to the soft receding tangle of brush, allow the viewer to wander through the photo to explore the various textures and shapes, with the eye settling firmly on this lovely cat. Nicely done.

  • Hello! My name is Alessia Piscopo, 38 years old and I come from Naples (southern Italy) Huge thanks to all the judges for the mark of excellence! I' m really honored! I took the photo during a trip in Capo Miseno (southern Italy). I swear I was really impressed by this intricate compositon, that' s why I chose this perspective! I had only a few minutes to take some pics trying to frame the kitty face in the branches because then he walked away! Nikon D3200 - 18/105 lenses. PP: Camera raw + Nik collection

  • This is a magical image of this tabby watching the snow fall. There is almost a wonderment on her face as she watches the flakes fall. Beautifully captured and managed in post. Thank you for sharing.

  • This was my late Lindsey whom I loved like she was a child. She was an indoor cat but loved when it snowed so I put her out on my back deck and took this photo. Thanks for the honor

  • What a fabulous looking cat and a wonderful capture. With the shallow depth of field, this feline seems to be ready to creep right out of the image. Beautifully captured and managed in post.

  • This is such an intriguing image. Rendering the image as a black and white works well to allow this shy cat to stand out from the chaos of jumbled nets and other fishing gear. Nicely done.

I took the photo during a trip in my city near the sea. I was photographing the nest when the kitty suddenly appeared...I only took one picture, perfect time...then he immediately ran away! I have been lucky! Nikon D3200 - 18/105 lenses. PP: Camera raw + Nik collection (black and white conversion)

  • Oh my gosh, what an adorable kitten. Anyone who has ever raised a kitten can hear this wee kitten's voice as it stares into the camera. With the shallow depth of field, this little guy and his loud mew simply leap out of the frame. Nicely done.

  • This is such a lovely image. The soft grey on grey tones allow the brilliance of this cat's eyes stand out. The low angle gives the overall image a very intimate feeling as though the viewer could reach out and touch that warm thick fun. Nicely done.
