  • Congratulation to our favorite submissions to this I-Shot-It Child photo competition! We love how this young lady is reading the book upside down, as well as how the light-source gently touches her arm and hand, and shows the striped outfit of the child. The red apple on the book cover, her red top and pants, as well as a little bit of red in the bed sheet holds this image together nicely. This is a great moment captured, with a little bit of mystery, which is created by a long shadow, as well as darkness around the girl.

  • This is my daughter at bedtime and this represents her so well. She has a severe delay and some neurological difficulties. This photo kind of shows where she is socially and with schooling. Shot with a Canon 5diii and Sigma Art 50mm.

  • Our first question when looking at this photo is, ‘What’s going on here?’ The little girl is ready to take off, she is half flying. This is a great image, well balanced, and post-production was done in skillful ways.

  • The expression of this young lady is just priceless! The contrast and bold colours, most likely this image was taken with flashlight, add to the flavor of this photo and brings out the best. A marvelous capture this is, great timing and execution.

  • How nice to have this honor. Thank you! My name is Patrick Tadeushuk, and I'm in Yonkers, NY. This photo was actually made in the winter of 1990 in the lunch room of a bus company I managed. The little girl was the daughter of one of the company’s owners and was probably most annoyed by all of my picture-taking, though something tells me that lunch didn’t improve things. The original image was on Fujichrome film and made with a Nikon FM2. I am not positive about the lens, but it was probably a Vivitar Series 1 100mm f 2.0. I recently scanned the slide on a Minolta Dimage scanner. Post processing was minimal--just some cropping and adjustments for contrast and brightness. I am in the process of creating a portfolio of my work, old and new, and hope to have a website up soon. I love photographing virtually everything, from people to plants, riverscapes to heavy industry. Everything has a beautiful moment. I can be reached at [email protected].

  • A wonderful scene of these young people in the wide landscape, shot from above. This is a great angel to show the bigger picture of this situation, filled with freedom. This photograph is beautifully framed and well executed.

  • This is a terrific capture with superb expression and light of this fine young man, underlined by a feeling of a black and white movie from some time ago, possible the 60th. This child is surrounded by many other people, and still - the photographer managed well, isolating him from the crowd - creating a story, which draws the observer to the center with the boy.

  • The excitement of this little person is contagious and makes us excited as well! Having so much space around him (or her) makes this person stand out from the rest of the surrounding. No matter how cold it was, when this photo was taken. There is a lot of warmth in it, being communicated through the child’s happiness. The rainbow colours, showing in the bubbles, are nice details in this image.

  • Lucy Aron Bodega Bay, California Fujifilm Finepix S5000 This was shot very early in my photography journey. So it was just a lucky shot with little preparation. The little guy was simply irresistible. I esp loved his rosy cheeks and dirty pant knees. Thank you for the recognition!

  • In this photograph we enjoy the dreamy light, which shows warmth and comfort. Getting a glimpse of the sun before it disappears adds beauty to this atmospheric image.

  • This under-water photo carries mystery, which partially is created by showing the image in black and white. The boys body seems to float without movement, which underlines this feeling. The light on the air bubbles and on the young man’s face makes this photograph even more of a stunner.
