  • This time the winner of this competition is a black and white photograph. This image is filled with stories. Light, composition, framing and tonal expression - it all lines up and is truly superb. The little bug sitting on this blossom is an important detail. It adds layers and makes our mind wonder. Thank you for submitting, and congratulations to the photographer of such a quality photo!

  • Thank you! I took this picture during a walk in the woods. In a shadowy area among the trees I saw this huge, beautiful calla lily. The few sunbeams that filtered through the trees created a "spotted" light, and the holes in the petals and the irregular perimeter made it unique. After a first shot the insect arrived, inviting me to shoot again. So here's the picture! Canon 5DMII + 24-105mm @105mm 1/320sec f/11

  • 'Pretty in Red’ could be a good title for this photo. The wide angle lens, as well as the angle that the photographer has chosen to capture these flowers, go well hand-in-hand.

  • What seems to be frozen ice, enhances the colours of these flowers. The shiny and wet effect does a good thing here. Well seen and captured!

  • The title of this photo is: Brunnera Macrophilla 03 et was shot with my little compact Leica D-109 in my backyard in Val-David, Canada. I made many photos of these flowers in water and ice, but I was never satisfied. So, I put everything in the sink and later, after many hours, when I saw how they look and how they pop up from the melted ice, I found them much more interesting and touching.

  • The pointy ends of these lush green leaves, combined with the round circles of light in the background, are a striking combination and contrast, and compliment each other beautifully. Lovely seen and captured by the photographer!
