  • Superb photograph, the lovely soft light cleverly adds to the cuteness. You have worked hard to get this far with your squirrel photography and this resulting photo really is outstanding, aesthetically of course, but also for its story of opportunity, of hope and of the endless struggle wildlife has to feed itself. Big well done, you win this round.

  • Many thanks for choosing my image, I am very pleased to be the wildlife competition winner this time and I really appreciate the judges comment. I remember waiting for hours and hours to get this shot! It was taken with a Canon 7D and a Canon 100-400mm. Camera settings: f 5.6, ISO 400, 1/500sec. Again, many thanks!

  • Wow, three "Mark of Excellence " in a competition. Thank you for the awards, I was delighted. My name ist Werner Schmaeing, come from Germany. This young deer was rescued by us, becomes milk, lived near the house and is now wild. One morning at the neighbouring house I saw the shadows in the morning sun, so I planned this photo. The photo was taken with the Canon 7D II and the EF 70-200 2.8 L IS II, F 4.0, 1/2000, 100mm, ISO 100.

  • Beautifully captured dark-in-the-woods atmosphere with the roe deer in prime position, anchoring my eye very nicely.

  • Here is a beautiful portrait of a very handsome young cheetah proudly looking out from its favorite watching spot. Beautiful colours and savanna light, great crisp shot.

  • Photo by Angela Poggioni - Thank you for recognizing my image taken at Savute National Park in Botswana. I waited for two days for this to happen since the Leopard brought a kill up on the tree. And finally at the end of the second day, close to sunset, the Leopard did what she does best, climb and enjoy her meal. The picture was taken with Nikon D750 and Nikon 70-200mm lens.

  • This is technically complicated and well executed. Your flash lighting allows for a very atmospheric sunset while throwing all attention onto the praying mantis and its dinner, well done.

  • This looks like a camera trap photo and it has worked out really well, i love the background woods and light. What an inquisitive look this fox has, he can hardly believe what he is seeing!

  • How cute is this? It looks like the same fawn so I am guessing we are on some sort of animal rescue center for a meeting like this to happen between a deer and a wild boar, or at least for it to be observed and photographed. So sweet.

  • Thank you again for the awards. This young deer is the same as the one with the shadow ... During our wildlife rescue station we take in orphaned or sick wildlife, become wild again. That's how these two got to know each other. The photo was taken with the Canon 7D II and the EF 70-200 2.8 L IS II, F 3.2, 1/640, 102mm, ISO 125. Werner Schmaeing, Germany.
