  • Thank you so much for the nice words! I shot this in a hangar at Deanland airfield in East Sussex. It was taken on a Nikon D810, 24-70mm with a Godox AD600 strobe and a soft box. The place had so much depth and character to it, you knew the owner had spent many hours and late nights working away on his pride and joy in the workshop and it came across in the smell, texture and vibe of the place and I really wanted to try and capture it.

  • Thank you very much for the nice words. I shot this in Thailand while producing a book on classic cars. I took pictures of the car at night set on a huge portable studio; butterfly lightened with tungsten. Shot with Canon 1Ds III with 24 f1.4 @ f11. Several exposure with different shutter speed merged in post. I mostly do commercial for hotels but I have a knack for classic cars.

  • Love this, the simplicity and the overall feel to it. Car detail can be very hard to shoot well but this has been lit and shot well and really is a lovely piece of work.

  • It's always a great honor to see it's own shot under the top 10 in this competition. The shot is one of my early works and it was executed completely without flashes or other helpers, just available light. The soft light only derives of the matt finished paint of the muscle car. Thanks for the mark of excellence and concrats to the winner! Regards Torsten Krebs

  • Simple shot but very well executed and I love the fact that it has been presented in mono as I do feel that adds to it overall and suits the subject matter very well.

  • It is a very simple shot but the art is in seeing this in the first place and being able to capture that. The overall cool tones with the metal work really well and the DOF is a good choice here on this subject.

  • A technically difficult image to pull off that has been very well executed. The lighting is really well done and the post edit has been matched to that carefully. Well done

  • Dark blue car lit coming out of the darkness, a very hard subject matter to choose and the photographer has done a really great job of trying to light that and use the details and curves off the car to create this image. Well done

  • Simple but very nice capture of a classic car. Sometimes the details can really present the feeling of a vehicle and I think thats the case here. The choice of mono also really suits the subject matter.
