  • You have caught the beautiful light, near and far. The colours are lovely, harmoniously cool and warm at the same time. You have also captured a large tonal range from the very dark to the very light, which you have (post) treated with respect. It is an impressive summit, just nicely to the left, dividing the distant view into two opposing parts. This is a very pleasant photograph which deserves another look, taken at a stunning natural moment, it is no doubt the fruit of much research. Well done, you deservedly scoop this round’s prize! Congratulations!

  • Thanks a lot for this selection!! I am very honored !! My Name is Michael Arzur and i live in French Alps. This picture was taken on the eastern mountains of the Dévoluy massif in the French Alps during the autumn of 2017. The name of this summit is "Pic Faraut", a fantastic place but very difficult to access. There is no marked path to access. I was looking for this image a cloudy and dramatic atmosphere, that day the conditions were perfect but the light was difficult. The summit was against the light and the sun just behind the clouds made the highlights very strong. For post-processing the work was mainly on the highlights and the structure of the rock. I did not work much colorimetry because I wanted to stay as natural as possible. Conclusion, a difficult climb, a complex shooting but a very satisfactory result. Nikon D 610 Tamron 24-70 mm f2.8 DI VC USD 24 mm / f 11 / 1/400s / iso 100 Cokin GND Filter ( ND8)

  • It is so difficult keeping things simple, photographing only the essential, composing with only shapes and lines. You have managed this view beautifully, it is perfectly weighted, original, minimal and lovely. It was a close call, well done.

  • Thank you for the award! My name is Guenther and I am from Austria. I took this shot this spring in Southern Moravia, Czech Republic. The lines and structures certainly caught my eye here, but the colored version was a little dull. So I made the conversion to monochrom and the result was a lot better. For this shot I used my 70-200 telephoto lens on my Nikon D610. Postprocessing was done in LR and Silver Efex Pro.

  • I love the mystery here and the footprints which bring a story to these soft tones, to the monochrome and the lovely dark weather.

  • My name is Albert Strauch, living in the south of Germany, and I'm very happy to get this mark of excellence. I shot this picture in the year 1980 on the "Schwäbische Alb" in Germany with my Nikon FE2. The foto was digitized with a dia scanner, not any post-processing has been performed.

  • This is a striking shot, divided into graphic parts by your telephoto lens. The movement of the water accentuates the contours of the trees. It is an amazing waterfall and a beautiful picture.

  • The famous Vestrahorn mountain in Iceland has a very recognizable and photogenic form. You have captured it nicely with this long exposure and flattering clouds. I wonder what the full frame looks like…

  • Thanks a lot for considering my image for a mention. My name is Andrea Frapporti, I'm an italian-born, UK-based photographer with a strong passion for fine art landscape photography. This image was taken in the Stokksnes peninsula in Iceland, right after a strong rainfall. Pastel colours in the yellow-orange range beautifully contrast with the blue of the ocean and the sky (when not cloudy) in October, when the green of the summer has already started to fade away. I took this picture with a Nikon D600 + Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G Ed VR + a polariser and ND filters. Post processing was done in Lightroom (highlights, contrast, shadows and exposure adjustments) and Photoshop (dodge and burn, luminosity masks, selective tonal adjustments).

  • Vestrahorn again, this time cleverly captured in a panoramic view. The mood is superb, though the set-up with the photographer seems a little forced.

  • Your composition is fascinating and so very precise. The blend of nature and broken fencing is intriguing. This might have climbed a few places with a little less colour saturation.

  • Got to say Thanks for Mark of Excellence. My Name is Gustavo and I took this Photo In Late March of 2017, So. Cal had a Wet Winter for our standards, and took this in North Malibu, at Nicholas Canyon State Beach (aka Zero's) early morning, before a surf. The hillsides were just beaming with wildflower's.To my eye this is how I saw it and needed to add a little saturation to bring it back.My Little Sony RX10 M2 just could not reproduce the those colors. 1/320s @f8.8 100iso , software used Light Room and Nik software HDR EFX Pro.The other thing not seen is a power pole that disturbs this wonderful view.

  • The square format is interesting and highlights all of those lines which push the eye nicely into the distance. Nice composition, detail and exposure, well done.
