- Lady on the dock - Photographed an early summer morning in Sweden. I found my cat Lady sitting on the dock, looking out over the lake as the mist was rising. I had to capture the moment. It is shot with a pocket camera, believe it or not, Nikon Coolpix s9100. This win, which I am honored of, goes to show that it's not the cost of the equipment, it is what you do with what you got.

- Thank you very much for all your votes. My name is Angela Poggioni, I am from Italy and live in New York City. This photo was taken last Fall in British Columbia, Canada, when the Grizzly Bears were still out in the rivers looking for salmon. It was a very cold evening just before the sun set behind the surrounding mountains when this Grizzly appeared in the distance. It was lucky that he came along just at the right time allowing me to take the photo I envisioned. Nikon D750 with Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6 at 1/500sec, ISO 1200

- Thank you so much for your votes! I feel very honored to get this Mark of Excellence. I´m a hobby photographer from the north of Germany an I took this picture in Deadvlei, Namibia. I was really lucky to see this part of the Namib Desert while clouds were arising.

- I am so happy to get even two Marks of Excellence in this round. Thank you so much for your votes! I took this picture at Skorgafoss, Iceland. It was a very cold night and the nothern lights right behind the waterfall were just perfect.

- I call this one "Early birds". It was photographed in spring 2015 in Sweden on my grandparent's property. I like getting out early in the morning to watch the landscape awaken. The seagulls are chanting while flying over the lake as the mist is rising in the golden rays of the sun. It was taken with a Nikon D7100, my first DSLR. It is shot in jpg and no post processing is done to it. It is what it is.
