  • Reuben Radding here to express my gratitude to the judges and everyone involved with I-Shot-It! I took this picture of the drummer and bandleader from the amazing Soul/R&B band Empire Beats in Brooklyn, New York. I was on assignment, hired by the band to capture their electrifying performance at a club called The Way Station. The band was in the middle of "Slipped Tripped and Fell In Love," by Ann Peebles. As usual, I was working with a Leica M-P and an old Olympus T-20 flash on a cord. Mark is not one of the singers in the band, but sometimes when everything is cooking he sings along. I was at that point in the shoot where I knew I had everything I needed, so I could afford to try some things for myself. I felt like trying a slow shutter with the flash to hopefully introduce a little random magic into the frame, and it worked well with Mark howling at the moon.

  • It is really a great honor to win a Mark of Excellence in this competition! Thank you so much to the judges Birgit Krippner and Thorsten Overgaard - I am very happy about it! My name is Irina Sigl from Germany. Photography has been one of my greatest passions since my childhood! The picture was taken on a field with frozen water on a very cold winter day. I used my Nikon D600 and a Voigtländer 20mm lens. The post-processing was made with Lightroom and Photoshop.

  • My name is Rudolf Sulgan. Thank you for the award. Image was taken using Canon5D-mark3 with Canon 24-70 lens. It was a quiet rainy morning in Covent Garden-London when I noticed this elderly couple walking down the street. Because of the lovely atmosphere I call it Old Love!

  • We don’t see it, but we feel we see a young boy in the mirror. Maybe that’s what we all see when we look in the mirror: The young version.

  • Dance, art or sport? It’s a remarkable photograph, and we guess it's just as interesting for those in it as us outside of it.

  • Thanks so much to the judges, and great to see the amazing work as always submitted into the competition. Underwater rugby is indeed bizarre, apparently voted as on of the world's top 10 most bizarre sports! I used a canon 5d MarkIII inside an Aquatech housing, and had a Pocket Wizard [floating] in order to fire a dry flash on the pool deck. The shoot was at night with terrible lighting, so I added some directional flash. Thanks again and congratulations to the winner! instagram @alexcoppel

  • The photo was taken in the cafe of a museum in Istanbul, the Pera Museum. They kept and preserved that vintage look that corresponds to the period of the building...and I was lucky to see that elderly woman and the man, they looked timeless. The photo was taken with the Leica Q, and after the B and W I worked on it on my iPadPro. Thank you for the award, it’s an honor!

  • Thank you for the Mark Of Excellence. My name is Cristian Lee, I'm from Romania. I took this photo in January in the village of Magura, a great location at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains. I was immediately attracted by the geometry of the place and I chose a composition that I liked. Then I waited for the people to arrive at the spot that I wanted and took the photo.

  • Thank you. I’m deeply honoured. This shot was taken with the Leica MM (246) and a Summilux 35mm/f1.4 lens. It was taken in Valletta last November. It was a short moment of light. I’m glad I was part of the journey into the light. I am always drawn to the play of light. My MM is my passion. Thanks again - Anna Fenech

He is poor, refugee and blind and still doing all efforts to move out of this triple jeopardy. The school where he studies is called "A New Path". The picture was taken with a Leica Camera M10, 35mm lens.
