  • Congratulations to the photographer with such great vision! Who is this I-S-I Flower Competition winner? We love this lovely and lively composition of flowers. The added layer - maybe it has been photographed through a window, or perhaps a filter has been applied in prost-production. It works well in this image and makes it shine. There is a dreamyness to it, which takes the mind away, no matter how busy this day might be. Thank you for submitting such a wonderful capture!

  • Wow, thanks to the judge and i-shot-it team for this prize! My name is Kelsa and I am very honoured to have won this competition . I’m a freelance photographer based in Switzerland. One of my customers asked me to take pictures of her jewellers in a natural environment so that’s why I started to take pictures of flowers at the end of the summer As material I shoot mainly with my Nikon D500 and I’ve used my 50 mm focal lens. I didn’t use Photoshop for this shoot, as I don’t really like to retouch photos, but I’ve used a layer in my hand to add more softness in the picture. Many thanks again, this is a great encouragement for me.

  • The warm and vivid colours in this photograph are strong and engaging. It could be a double exposure, well executed. This photo shows passion with colours like a burning fire.

  • First off, many thanks to the judge. This image is 3 or 4 images overlaid . I photograph with Olympus and Fuji Mirrorless cameras. The images are then downloaded to my Sony Tablet and Superimposed. There are about 12 blending modes on the tablet, some work better than others for individual images. Once I have chosen a completed image, I then download it to my computer, adjust resolution and size and print the images on an Epson 2880 Printer.

  • This is a truly stunning capture of a flower frozen. The edges of the paddles, bleeding into the ice give this image depth. This photo is well seen and executed.

  • It is a beautiful contrast - how this rose sets itself off from the dark background. Also the composition and framing is superb. This photo is another one of our favorites!

  • As far as a flower can be shown in a sensual way, this image is definitely right there! A tight depth of field with the center being the focal point, the observer is drawn straight into the middle of the flower. The pink and dark yellow give a certain mood to this capture. To sum it up, this is a great photograph!

  • What great bunch of flowers! A good balance of white and red, mixed with a touch of pink, standing out from the dark background. The theatrical appearance of this photograph makes this another one of the best in this competition.

  • It is the unusual composition which makes me revisit this photo, and look at it again. The asymmetry, as well as the delicate seed being placed on top of the flower which seems to be upside down. It's what makes this one of our top ten photos of this competition.

  • The execution of this photo is sensibly done, and the framing is beautiful. Having the center of the image slightly off-centered, was a good call. This photo works well in black and white.

  • Yellow, pink, blue and green, what a beautiful variety of colour in this image! And having these flowers floating on water, gives this image a nice depths and makes a point of difference.

  • What great way to look up - and not only see what is in front of us! This image is a bit different to most of the other submissions, since it does not show one flower, or maybe two. It shows an entire tree, seen from below. And then there is the beautiful big blue sky above, which makes the little blossoms pop out.
