The rich tones and contrast between the red border collie and the dark green leaves, the deep shadows, and the light flooding down on this sweet dog with its upward gaze, make it a captivating and wholly memorable image. - Thank you Illona! The photo was taken during my roadtrip through The Alps past summer. I found this beautiful forest with these cool salad looking leaves somewhere near Kozjak waterfall in Slovenia. Nikon D610 with Sigma 35 1.4 was involved in the shot.

- Oh my, this image is simply stunning with its play of light against the deep shadows. The variety of textures from the old wood, the dusty, littered floor, and the warm rays of light flooding through the window keep the viewer's eye traveling through the photo but always ending on the sweet dog. - This is an absolutely wonderful silhouette image. The strong framing with the guardian and dog offset with the tree, give this image a strong balance; the subtle yet rich tones of the sunset, and the fine details of the guardian's hair and the grasses, all make this photo an instant fave. - This is such a beautiful and powerful image. It appears as though the dogs are all seniors, enjoying a morning gathering. The wonderful sun rays, the contrast of the three dogs, the breath from the middle dog hanging in the air ... all these details bring the viewer back again and again to be a part of this peaceful moment.
