  • My name is Josh Becker. Before nailing this shot, it definitely took a little bit of trial & error. Let's just say I'm glad my friend Rob Beaudoin can see in the dark! The photo was taken at Rob's house near Pismo Beach, CA. Camera info: Canon 5D Mark III, 70-200, F7.1, 3.2 seconds, ISO 400, 2 Quantum T5DR strobes. (look closer, it's not steel wool)

  • Thank you for recognizing me with this Mark of Excellence. My name is Scott Edwards and this past year I have reawakened by passion for photography. The woman in this photo hesitated to walk into my field of view because she didn't want to ruin my photo. She was, of course, essential. Photo taken at Schabarum Regional Park in Los Angeles County on a Nikon D7100, 1/60 sec at f/22, ISO 100, 58mm (18-105mm). Thanks again.

  • Thank you so much for the Mark of Excellence and your kind comments! This is one photo in a series that I took at sunset in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA, with my Nikon D7500. I love beautiful trees - this cypress with the couple cuddled underneath made a perfect silhouette.

  • First, thank you for recognizing this photo; it is truly an honor! The USS CASSIN YOUNG (DD-793) is a US Navy Fletcher-class destroyer whose namesake was awarded the Medal of Honor for heroism at the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and was subsequently killed at the Battle of the Solomons in 1942. Commissioned in 1943 the ship served during World War II and the Korean War, and put in long-term storage in 1960. In 1974, the ship was permanently loaned to the National Park Service as a floating memorial berthed at Boston Navy Yard. This image was taken in January 2011, during a dry-dock availability. I titled this image "Ready for Sea", the motto of the US Navy Supply Corps, reflecting my own Navy heritage, and because the ship looks like she's ready to fight alongside her more modern counterparts. Captured by: Canon EOS 7D | EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM aperture priority at 16 mm for 1/250th at f/4 and ISO 100. Post-processing: Adobe Lightroom

  • Thank you very much for this Mark of Excellence! I took this in a cypress swamp using a Nikon d7000 and kit zoom lens, no post-process. I shoot what I see that I find interesting, I love when the result surprises me.
