  • Thank you so much. I really appreciate your words. They mean a lot to me. To win this competition with so many cool artists is just awesome. I am a Photographer based in Switzerland. The people call me phPics or Pascal. ;) For this picture I traveled to the Bernese Oberland (Switzerland) and waited for a setting sun. For me, the location is simply epic and the Ferrari 458 fits perfectly into this landscape. The special feature of the picture are the contrasts between the calm of the mountains and the burnout of the car. Photographed with the Nikon D800 and available light. Postproduction was done in Adobe Photoshop.

  • Great piece of work. Really like this and at first it seems like such a simple shot but its not that simple and the quality is spot on. Very well executed and the colour and lighting are really well done.

  • Hi! My name is Matija and I'm a photographer from Croatia. This photo is a composite and was made in Lightroom and Photoshop. The car was shot at the dealer's place and was lit with a strobe. The background was shot with my car as a stand in for the final one. I used a Canon 6D with 50mm f/1.4 (1/160, f/9, ISO 100) and Godox AD600. As Mr. Wallace said, it looks like a simple shot but a lot of work was put into making the finale image. As this was my first entry to this competition, receiving a Mark Of Excellence is kind of a big deal to me! :) There were some amazing photos in the competition and I think the best one won. Congratulations to the winner! Thank you Mr. Wallace for your kind words. It means the world to me as I think of you as my role model. Cheers and I'll see you all in the next round of competition... ;)

  • Love love love this. Really amazing work and a great vision to shoot this in this manner. Really loved the whole feel to this and if anything at all I would like just perhaps maybe like to see it with a fraction less colour maybe. Brilliant work and vision.

  • Detail work is never easy to shoot because the lighting has to really be very much perfect and this is a great example of that. A really great piece of detail work and amazing lighting. Well done!

  • Thank you for the accolaides. I am Maryna Cotton, from South Africa. I love making images of details on cars. For this I create very soft light very close to the car to eliminate reflections. (FDL-technique)

  • Thank you very much for the nice words. I am Pascal (better known as phPics) and I am a Photographer from Switzerland. For this picture, I had to get up very early. I had to drive for almost 2 hours to the location and my goal was to shoot at sunrise on the mountain. The shot was done with my Nikon D800 and available light. For the postproduction I always use Adobe Photoshop.

  • One of the first shots from The Storm Chaser series with Lotus Evora GT430. The whole photoshoot went extremally well and I was happy with the results. It was an amazing day to be out with a camera and car like that. This picture is, of course, a rig-shot with a Canon 5D at the end, set to 10 seconds exposure time. Thank you very much for Mark of Excellence and I'm proud to be between such good competition.

  • Really love these old detail classic shots. It really is great that the car dust and grit has not been cleaned off first as that would have been a mistake for sure. Looks really great and the lighting is really spot on.

  • Really like this tracking shot. Great use of the car position and the increased higher angle works really well on this shot rather than opting to go too low. The post edit is good and the overall image is really good work.

  • Its good to see a aviation image in the selection and this is one that stood out for me. Its never easy to shoot planes because of the access and this is a great capture that has drama and a brilliant mood to it. That sky is just epic!
