  • The translucency of how the light comes through, from behind the paddle of this flower, is captured in a superb way. Beautiful colors and well framed. Also the contrast is fantastic. The I-S-I team would like to congratulate the winner of this flower competition.

  • I thank the I S I team for choosing my photo as a winner, among so many other beautiful photos. I am honored. About the photograph I can say that the filtered light under the trees made me see the multiple and intense colours of a flower in contrast  with the background shadows. The camera was a Nikon D5300 with the Nikkor manual 135mm lens. Happy New Year to all. Miguel Bartilotti - Salvador, Brazil

  • This is one of our favourite photographs of this flower competition. It is one of the most artistic submissions this time, beautifully executed with a film-like appearance. This is a fantastic image!

  • We like how the photographer of this image plays with shadow and the actual flower. Very well seen!

  • I was fascinated by the shadows on this white wall. They had a depth to them with the closest cosmos flowers being sharper. I was disappointed that my cosmos did not flower in the summer, but with the low autumn sun they created these wonderful shadows. When I saw it I immediately thought of this competition as it's something more original than a typical flower shot. Chris Kent.

  • Is this a photo of a painting or was a special filter applied to it in post-processing? We are not sure, and it does not matter. It is a beautiful and positive image, photographed from a good angle, getting really close to it.

  • This is a bit different in its approach, how it was captured. A silhouette of flowers with their leaves, without seeing the actual flower. We are rather delighted with this submission! Green on green, and nothing else.

  • My name is Perdita Petzl, I am from Austria. I shot this unusual photo on a sunny day in spring, when the sun came trough the trees. So it was possible to shoot this beautiful silhouette.

  • The narrow depth of field and the texture of these blossoms draws the observer right into the center of this flower. It has a dreamy feel to it and is very well seen, framed and executed.

  • What beautiful and manicured garden this is! Also seeing the glimpse of a blue sky on the top of the frame, out of focus, makes this a very attractive image.

  • The alternated coloration of this photo gives it a bit of an under-water feel to it. It feels like coming straight out of a movie!

  • A strong contrast of colors, from dark green to bright yellow, make this flower pop out form the background. Having water drops on it adds another dimension, and suggests freshness.
