  • As a street-photographer you should really always carry a camera with you. This is a great example for spontaneous great moments, captured in the right time, an unobserved moment. The lines in this picture support the scene in a great way and one of the hardest things, that makes a photo interesting, is to tell a story. You did it in a great way! Congrats to the winner of this I-Shot-It Street Photo Competition.

  • Wow! I was so delighted to get notification that my image had done well in the street category. My name is Paul Bucknall, I have a passion for street photography, I love exploring urban environments always wondering what may be around the next corner and the opportunity that may be presented. I came across this image doing exactly that, and by luck chanced apon this interesting scene of a boy trying to perfect his handstand whilst his friend looked on. I took a few shots unobserved and this is my preferred result. I changed the image to black and white, I felt it made the overall effect more dynamic The image was taken in Havana, Cuba The camera used was a Panasonic GX-8 with 35-100 F2.8 lens used at of 90mm in a 35mm camera equivalent. The judges comment is also correct you should always carry a camera with you even if it is a mobile phone...remember you never know what's around the next corner! Thanks again for choosing my image and the kind comment about the shot!

  • This photograph transfers a great mood to the observer. The play with the colors is great. Blurry and strong contrasts combined. An outstanding photograph that should be printed immediately on high quality fine Art paper.

  • This could be a scene from a futuristic movie. It looks very interesting to look at. The reflections of the projection, the strong contrasts and the silhouette of the child……really well done!

  • First of all, thank you so much for the recognition! I took the shot at an interactive work of public art called Crown Fountain at the Millennium Park in Chicago, Illinois. On the technical side, there is nothing special in the image; it is a single exposure, post-processed in Lightroom and Photoshop. For more of my work, check out my website (link below).

  • Sometimes you find a good motive in 'banal' things if you look carefully. You did! It looks strange and bizarre. I like the structure and the reflection of the plastic sheet. This photograph gets a certain plasticity through it.

  • I really like this scene you have captured. A hairdresser in the middle of nowhere. I also like the way you did the post production, the strong black and white contrasts.

  • A silhouette picture. You only show what is really necessary to create an interesting picture. You can't see the faces but you might feel the emotions through their gesture. This is one of my favorites of this Street Photo Competition!

  • An elegant picture that could be also a movie scene. I like the way she sits at the bar, she moves her head in the direction of the window, maybe she waits or is thinking of someone. The way the colors play together is great! Love it!!
