  • This capture is just plain beautiful. The scene itself is wonderful but you have gone way beyond the ordinary photocopy. The sea divides the picture with beautiful light and sets off the lone figure who makes that important anchor for the viewer. The textures of the sand, rock and sea compliment the smooth sky, the mist and tinted monochrome create the magic. Congratulations you are this round’s worthy winner !

  • I have come back to this shot over and over, it is absolutely absorbing. You have caught a mystical mood and a beautiful wooded seaside spot. Dog holds my attention and adds to my curiosity. This is striking and a very close contender. Well done.

  • This photo was taken in Verlot, WA using a Galaxy S7 smartphone camera. I am an amateur photographer and thrilled to have placed well in this contest. I love taking pictures of nature, especially when the lighting is fabulous, such as early in the morning (when this picture was taken).

  • Well we know this view of course but you have managed this panoramic photograph very nicely. I love the cold blue and the contrasting warm light. It is a little shame that your foreground conflicts somewhat with the reflection…

  • The strong light of a stormy sunny spell makes the colours really pop, softer peripheral light makes the scene so comfortable to admire. The hedgerows divide your picture up and help bring out those tractor lines. You have framed this well with the rainbow and farm buildings helping my eye back and forth. Lovely countryside too, beautiful work, well done.

  • Well photography is all about light and this photograph has plenty of that. The setting and mood are beautiful, the foreground plants bring depth to this deserted volcanic place. Lovely warm tones to contemplate.

  • Here is a clever short depth of field, giving life and presence to the crop and an appealing bokeh to the distance. It is a pleasant image to behold with nice dividing horizontal segments and a hard centre.

  • This is really a great honor! My name is Jason "JWZY" Whitehead and I'm from Texas and thank you to everyone that voted and considered this photo. I took this with an older Canon t3i with a new Canon 50mm 1.8 shot @ f/2.0. My absolute favorite lens! I shoot a lot of bokeh shots anyway and was just really drawn to the color of the field and the contrast of the grain this particular morning. This was taken in the heart of the Texas Hill Country in Fredericksburg at the LBJ Park on the outskirts of town. I've shot many of my favorite subjects out at this park, and particularly out around this same field...I'm blown away that this is among so many amazing photographers and shots that were able to share this accolade. Thank you again...

  • This is such a peaceful view with lovely colour tones, texture and lines keeping us looking. Maybe your crop is a bit tight on the foreground but that doesn’t distract too much from this lovely shot.

  • Lovely autumn colours and reflection in such a calm and leafy location. The mood and scene here are stunning, as is the vegetation. Nice photograph though a more natural light might have taken you further.
