  • One brave soul in the sea of tourists experiencing the power of mother nature first-hand. But actually, this picture shows quite a lot of people exploring the world. Something that wasn’t normal just 50 years ago before the jet age where we not all can go anywhere to experience the nature, other cultures and the world at large. It’s a beautiful photograph with great composition and tonality. Thank you for bringing us so close to the action. This is the winner of the I-SHOT-IT competition. Congratulations!

  • “I named this picture “ Alone in the mist”, I took it by the Niagara Falls on the boat cruise. Similar rain plastic overcoats were given to the tourists, keeping them dry from the shower-like wet mist. Among these one-day sailors, a lady dared come out of her plastic prison bare headed to enjoy more of the stupendous view and me, my Leica M9 to shoot this surrealistic scene.” Leica M9 + Summicron 35mm. Post-processing : Lightroom CC Again, many thanks ! Yannick DOUBLET (FRANCE)

  • A society of penguins that seem busy with living the life in the snow. Definitely not something you see every day, and we like the flow of this photograph, and the composition. Well done!

  • It’s a luxury to be able to sit and look at this scene, because if you are there, you would be in the picture and not see what we are looking at. Beautiful tonality and compact composition with a good atmosphere.

  • It looks beautiful in a picture, probably less exiting if you are balancing through traffic with an umbrella. Good light and good isolation of the bicycle.

  • This photo was taken in a rainy night in Kyoto, Japan, using a Leica M240 and 50mm Noctilux f/0.95. I normally just use the original JPEG off the camera, which is saved originally as a black-and-white file.

  • Thanks for appreciating the picture. It rained heavily that day and then early evening time it stopped. Below my apartment near pool/garden area I always go for a walk with my camera and then near pool area I saw this mother, her baby and maid while I saw baby’s father was trying to make the baby smile, the reflection was quite clear on the wet ground and I just clicked the pic instantly as I liked that very moment.

  • We see future adults when we look at these busy children, and likely they can’t wait to grow up an go places. We like this view into their world of imagination, as if performed by an invisible photographer. Very well done, one for the history books!

  • So many realities meeting in one busy place - and then we see the man and wonder what is going on. The big black area of the photograph makes it very unusual and unique.

  • Thank you for the award. My name is Grant Orbeta from the Philippines. This was exactly what entered my mind when I saw this scene from the bridge seen on the left. Where was the gondolier? What was he doing when people were now starting to look for a ride. At the same time it conveyed a sense of relaxed atmosphere - of rest and leisure in this beautiful city. Leica M9; Summilux 35 ASPH

  • Thanks a lot for the Mark!! This picture was taken in Oaxaca, Mexico in August 2017, at around 23:00 PM. When I saw the man with his hat in the beam of the light, I had a sensation of an Edward Hopper painting. I immediately took my camera out to freeze the moment ;-) Thanks again! Sandro Manni

  • A car repair out in nowhere, it seems. It has some humor to it with the simple composition of few elements. We wonder how you get your car there when it needs repair, but maybe the point it to make sure the car is fine before something happens.

  • on our way from Yerivan up the Armenian Mountains we found this gentlemen in abosolute silence doing repair works for his old Russian car with the phenominal sight of Mount Ararat in the background. This moment had an unbelievable calmness and was taken with my Leica M9, equipped with my fathers summicron-C 40mm from 1973.

  • Many thanks for the recognition. My name is Michael Attrill from the UK. This woman was closely examining a 'joiner' of our Monarch and seemed to be merging into the exhibit itself; almost as if she was wearing camouflage. Shot with my old, but super-quiet, Leica Digilux 2.

  • I was thrilled to see that this photo got a mark of excellence. It's an honor to have my work recognized, and the fact that there were so many wonderful pictures makes it all the more special. My name is David Glen Larson, and if you'd like to see more of my work you can follow me on Instagram @zoomingwithfeet. I took this picture over the summer. I was heading downtown on the redline subway to take some street photos when these two kids started to dance for money. I'd seen other performers on the subway, but the intensity in this kid's performance and on his face is what set him apart. I used a Fuji X-T2, and luckily I had my 16mm (24mm full-frame equivalent) lens attached. My usual 56mm never would have captured this moment, and I wouldn't have been able to switch over in time. It all happened in a moment, as most street photography does. Post processing was done with Capture One.
