  • Here is a rare photograph. You have caught this genet with a lovely natural hunter’s attitude. Genets are most discreet, nocturnal carnivores, lithe and very cat-like, they have lovely "out of Africa" spots and ringed tail. They are indeed beautiful animals to photograph, and you have photographed one quite beautifully. It looks like a photo trap picture with an automatic exposure setting and flash..? Whatever, and how ever, you have set up the frame beautifully, catching a wonderful and wild portrait against the dark background bush, and under a starry moonlit night…The 10 or 15 second shutter speed creates the star trails, the flash freezes the instant. Very beautiful and equally interesting. Well done you win this round with this stunning image. (Story please!)

  • Mario Cea: This image was taken in Salamanca, Spain on a cold winter night when this genet toured its hunting territory. The image has a great work of enlightenment since flashes were used to illuminate the animal and afterwards during a long exposition it was finished illuminating the scene with the natural light of the moon. In order to capture in a one only image, the genet, the moon and the stars, it was necessary to work with a single shot of about 50 seconds of exposure, which made the work even more complicated. Also two different color temperatures were used, 2800ºk in camera to get that the sky was seen with blue tones and a second one in the flashes to which they were put to them gels of color of about 7500ºk to compensate and that the animal had its natural tone. This image have not post processing and is a only Raw. Canon EOS 5D Mark III - Canon 17-40mm - Trigger Pixel King Pro - Tripod and ball Benro - Flashes Godox - Exif date; 52s - f/4 - ISO 1000

  • Here is a fantastic shot of these young african wild dogs getting away with their trophy. You have caught the wild action in a clever square crop with nice space around the subject, it is a strong composition. I love all of those eyes drawing us in. Great, and gory and cute :-)

  • Well here is an action packed photograph of a lion seducing his mate. it is an unusual capture of dominance, of submission and of sheer power. This was an instant hit, superb shot.

  • Apparently, this is a rarely seen event. Surprisingly, this is a story of the male refusing to mate with this female. The male was already mating with another female (off frame) and when lions mate, they only mate with one female - 60-70 times a day for 7 days! This female wanted in on the action and this photo is of the fight the male started, to run this female off.

  • Well done for this original backlit portrait. You have successfully made a graphic, eye-catching, black and gold image of lion breath and whiskers. I love this one, i can hear him expelling the air through his nostrils.

  • Such a sweet picture of this green frog who has taken on a near human pose, hanging upon the top of a reed and looking heavenwards. Nicely framed and amusing with beautiful colours and tones.

  • This photo was taken in the early morning hours of August 29, 2010 at Mill Creek Nature Center, Buford Georgia. Mill Creek Nature Center is a wetlands/wildlife preserve in Gwinnett County, owned and managed by the Georgia Wildlife Federation. Here the green tree frogs are visible for only a short period of time each year: August/ September. Instead of jumping for their next meal they prefer to climb to the highest point and wait for their food. I found this one perched nearly at the top of the saw grass contemplating his next meal. I used a Canon EOS 7D with a 60 mm len with a polarizer filter 1/500 sec at F 2.8 mounted on a tripod.

  • Fabulous fox contemplating the beauty of its environment, well done. Not so sure about the vignette though, it is somewhat distracting, a bit heavy maybe.

  • Here is a beautiful portrait of the most handsome of foxes with his wonderful winter coat. It is a shame, i believe, to have blurred away all of the surrounding scene, the wild has faded away...

  • I shot this photo through my dirty bedroom window in Canyon Lake, TX, with my new Canon EOS Rebel T6 and my beloved 15-year-old Canon 100-400 zoom lens (which cost more than my first car, but is worth every penny).

  • Well the atmosphere here is fabulous, the pannicked zebras and the hunting lioness in a dusty savannah confusion. Almost made a top spot but i feel the focus is just in the wrong place. Not an easy one to manage so a great effort, well done.

  • Failed ambush ! Taken in the Masai Mara, along the banks of the Mara river. This lioness frequently lies in ambush at this location, using the nearby bushes as cover to try to surprise animals that come down to drink. Sometimes she gets lucky, but this was not her day..... Camera, Canon 7Dii, 300mm f2.8mm ii lens with 1'4 converter. As shot except cropping and saturation adjustment.
