  • This most original aerial view is this round’s winner, congratulations! The trees seem to be reaching up, their texture contrasting beautifully with that of the water; the sharp shapes of the forest with the soft cloudy reflection, the strong colours of autumn with the deep blue… Those wonderful ingredients are plenty to make a great shot but add to that the striking shape of the shoreline, an absolutely eye pleasing stroke of geometry, with an island as a punctuation mark, and you enter the court of minimalism and simplistic beauty. Well done indeed.

  • This is a lovely almost abstract view through the window, from the comfort of home to the cold damp outside. Beautiful shapes and shades of green are blurred by the snow sliding down the window pane, smudging the scene in a way we all know so well. So almost abstract, but so very real.

  • Thank you for the honor. Shot with an old Fuji FinePixS7000. The view from our living room with the rare appearance of jack frost. Nik Color Efex 2 to adjust the balance of hues and some softening of foliage.

  • Just plain beautiful. You have captured the entrancing swirling movement of the sea under the diffused low light of a dull day with an almost monochrome palette. Your picture editing is nicely subtle too, the vignette steering my eye back into this mesmerizing view. Great photo.

  • The atmosphere here is extraordinary, the mist and ghostly lines. The wavy shapes of the tree trunks are unusual and make this special, as do the very low light, the washed out colours and very soft textures. I am not sure how you achieved all of this but the result is most original and lovely, well done.

  • What a stunning and powerful location which you have brought to scale with the sea kayaks, which i guess is a group of local hunter/fishermen. So a beautiful view but also a story of survival on equal terms with nature.

  • This is a clever springtime dusk shot, nicely framed so that the light trails divide the picture pleasantly. Highlights in the fruit trees have been nicely tweaked so they don’t fade against those powerful lights... As i said, clever.

  • This is a lovely frosty scene with loads of contrasting matter and shapes, and a nice natural environment. You have managed the sun well, placing it behind the branches, and have given all the weight to the fallen tree that it deserves. Perhaps a less tight crop with a little more breathing space would be easier to admire.

  • Well here is the light! And indeed an enchanting island where one doesn’t necessarily want to get washed ashore :-)

  • A clever graphical aerial view where the fields become a mosaic of colour and shapes, the tractor becomes the paint brush. It is also an insight to man’s devastatingly thorough occupation of space, there is not one square foot of "natural" left here.
