  • This is our absolute favourites in this competition. The warm light how it is broken through the fogged-up window, the frame from the building versus the long leaves from the plant, and the long-stemed flowers which shine through the glass. This is one fine photo presented in a most magical way. Thank you for sharing this image with I-SHOT-IT. Congratulations to the winner of the flower competition!

  • I'm absolutely delighted to be the winner of Flower Photo Competition. My name is Aleksandra Debiczak, I'm fully qualified photographer (Bachelor of Arts) and I work as a photography lecturer in Glasgow Kelvin College. I shot this image during my walk to Botanic Gardens in Glasgow, Scotland. As I couldn't get into the Glasshouse because it was too late I decided to look through the fogged-up window to check all the flowers inside. I think it was the perfect light that made me stop and notice these proudly standing daffodils. The large window, that separates green plant from the flowers, added the mystery that has had unique impact on the whole image. The silhouettes of daffodils with the help of backlight clearly stole the show. I captured the image with Nikon D800E with my favourite 50mm prime lens.

  • Beautifully composed and executed, we love the colours of this photo. There is a darkness to it, almost like a feeling of being under water.

  • My name is Brenda Wilcox, but photograph using the name Wildeyed n' Wicked. This was taken in sunny south Florida a while back using my Canon t5i and a kit lens. These are actually tiny wildflowers measuring less than 1 centimeter across. Thanks so much for your acknowledgement and kind words.

  • This flower looks positive and happy. The brightness of the colours and the angle how it was seen and captures is superb. Simple and strong, that’s what makes this a special image.

  • Thank you so much for this Mark of Excellence. I feel very honored to be included. My name is Cathy Walters and I took this photo of one of the last blooms on a Bombax Tree in the Florida Keys using a Nikon D3300. There was very little editing done since it was a beautiful day and the flower was so bright. Thank you again.

  • Different textures and patterns made this photo pop out. The striped leaves with the round petals of the flower, and how the sun light comes in - a great image!

  • This black and white photos does not lack anything. It is perfectly framed and executed. We like how it is pictured from the distance, have the foreground out of focus. Thank you for submitting such a great example of its kind!

  • Dreamy and movie-like, this is what comes to mind observing this image. The colours are vivid and the out of focus background shows dynamic movement. We love the colours in this photo.

  • Thank you so much for the kind words and thank you awarding "Mark of Excellence" to my photo. This photo is of oxalis, purple clover potted plant at my home. Photo is taken with tripod mounted Nikon D7000 and with, then newly acquired, Lensbaby. So this was manual exposure shot. I tried to get as many colors into this photo as possible. So rather than excluding vertical wooden window frame, I used it to add shades of orange brown to the photo.

  • This is a stunning photograph on all levels. Beautifully seen, composed and executed. It is mysterious and full of layers. It makes the observer revisit again and again. Each time we can see something new, something different in this photo.

  • My name is Taida, this picture was taken in a ruined cottage in Upper Silesia/Poland - I love such forgotten places with a history... There are some artificial flowers, dirt window, old spider webs... Some story about the owner who no longer exists...

  • Again many thanks to the judge. This is a two image overlay done in camera, with an Olympus Pen F and a 60 macro lens. One overlay is the flower arrangement and the second is color, done on a Sony tablet with a low res image and Photoshop Touch, Acrylic Paint Function and copied onto the SD card in Raw.

  • This is another fantastic photo which was submitted to this I-S-I flower competition. How the light falls on this white flower makes it dramatic and cinematic. Also the tall dark trees in the background gives this photo mystery.

  • Susanne Wunn, Sonsbeck/Germany Thank you very much for this Mark Of Excellence! I took this photo in the beautiful palace garden of Arcen/Netherland. The moat of the castle was full of different faded flowers recalling to the painting "Ophelia" of John Everett Millais. Shot with Nikon D800E.
