  • Congratulations for this wonderful, backlit snow scene. The chaos of the falling snow beautifully realised with clever close focus, the contrasting calm of the night scene made absolute by the bokeh. You have taken a beautiful shot full of real atmosphere but also lovely tones and shapes. Well done you win this round!

  • The photo was taken near Cedar Hill in New York's Central Park. A few well-bundled children were playing happily on their sleds while their parents yearned to go home. The snow was falling hard, three inches an hour, driven by a very strong wind. I was glad to have an image stabilized, weather resistant camera. Olympus OM-D E-EM5 Mark II with a Leica DG Summilux 25/1.4. Handheld at 1/15 sec wide open. Post-processed in Lightroom 6.7. Many thanks for this honor among so many fine photographs.

  • Talk about minimal… But achieving an image like this takes a talented eye and not just the eye. This is so beautifully empty and entrancing. This photo has an almost agoraphobic effect, it is appeasing but makes me anxious at the same time. What a shot!

  • Thank you very much for the mark of excellence and for the comment. This photo was taken this winter in the south of France. The trees you can see are along the canal du midi. It was a foggy day. The camera used for this picture is a Canon 5d2 and a 24mm lens. The photo was developed with DxO and convert to BW with Siver efex.

  • Well what an amazing tree arrangement, and you have gone and photographed it very neatly indeed, the colours slowly seeping through. Your composition adds to the arrangement, accentuating those repetitive though slightly different shapes. You chose your day well too.

  • Stunning low-light night shot, the long exposure adding to the minimal setting and making so much of so little light. Well done.

  • This is beautiful. Clever focus makes the detail pop and creates an original image. Well done too for the perfectly warm exposure, lovely.

  • Thank you for your remarks! My name is Nathan Farber, this shot was taken at the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park. During the summer time this is the first viewable location of the sunrise on the east coast of the US. I took this shot with a canon 60d and a canon 15-85mm lens. I did minimal editing in order to lighten the foreground in order to make it pop.

  • I love the shapes here, the hard lines of the wing, the soft of the window through the clouds. Well spotted shot and nicely composed. Shame to disturb all that sensitive composition with your signature.

  • A hard contrasted image with plenty depth and a nice splash of colour. Once again the “bad” weather makes this special.

  • Splendid autumn colors, atmosphere and composition but mind that saturation button.
