  • What happened here? Do you know the picture with Salvador Dali and cats flying around? It reminds me somehow of your picture … only a little. It is really crazy and also funny. A complete frozen moment with an incredible sharpness. She is really having a blast and the dog as well, I hope. Congratulations to this crazy shot and a 'Merry Christmas' to the winner of the last I-SHOT-IT child competition in 2016.

  • Thank you so much for the award I-Shot-it, and I am glad it made you smile Lisa. My Name is Chris Kirschbaum. I'm an organic farmer/photographer from Oxford, Iowa. USA. This is a photo of my daughter Charlotte, and her crazy jumping bean of a dog Chili...who in the picture was caught halfway through a 360 degree jump chasing mud/water droplets that my daughter threw so hard she fell down into the puddle. It was taken in the lane on our farm after a heavy rain. I used a Nikon D3 and a Sigma 50 1.4 to capture it. Processed in Lightroom.

  • This is was shot with a Pentax 67, 105mm f2.4, and HP5 400 rated at box speed manually metered on a particularly cold fall afternoon in NYC. I turned down Wall Street in Lower Manhattan and was greeted with the unusual sight of a T-Rex and hoards of children who wanted to play amongst the business crowd. I shot accordingly and am happy and humbled by the results and a pick for mark of excellence

  • Thank you so much for this honour. I took this picture at a horse show last May. Spring was slow coming this year, however, and it snowed like crazy that day. It made for a cold day of shooting, but I got some interesting shots. This was taken with a Canon 60D and a 70-100 2.8L lens.

  • First of all, I would like to thank the Jury for the honor of granting me with this Mark of Excellence. My name is Rodrigo Cabrita and i have been a photojournalist since 2000. This particular photograph was part of a story about child trafficking that I made in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, for the Portuguese newspaper Diário de Notícias, in 2004. I used a Canon EOS-1D camera and a 70-200mm lens. This image is black and white because it was my choice to have the whole story this way. I take this opportunity to invite anyone who wants to see my work, can go to www.rodrigocabrita.com or go to my Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/rodrigoacabrita/

  • An everyday moment, captured in the right time. An unobserved situation, pure and honest. I like the way you framed the scene. It underlines the situation!

  • The way how the background communicates with the foreground is adorable. It looks a bit staged, but it is not. Maybe because of the sharpness, the black and white tones, the beautiful light and the frozen situation - it could be from a movie somehow. Good job!

  • What a wonderful Christmas gift! Thank you so much! As an artist and an avid photographer, I am always looking to photograph vignettes for my canvas. Hi! my name is Anu Garg and I am from Sudbury,Ontario Canada. My professional background is in electrical engineering. Certainly not staged, this image is from our trip to the Caribbean. Quite nervous about wading into the water with my new Leica MP240, I was recording my family when I was instantly struck by the carefree innocence of the kids beside me - and, it was just that one click. Papa and the clouds in the background were a bonus. Processed in LR-PS. This was shot with a Leica M-P 240 and the Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH FLE with a B+W ND-VARIO filter.

I captured this photo of my younger one when I took her out for a walk after her afternoon nap. A well-rested little girl could be the best model for any father! • This scene reminds me on a photorealistic painting. It's not that sharp and is has really special colors. It could be from a movie. Really interesting to look at. Outstanding!

  • A well composed and beautiful black and white shot. It looks like the ducks belong to the story somehow. Or they even come out of the story … with a lot of imagination. Altogether it is a very nice picture!

  • A picture that works because of many reasons. It is really interesting to look at again and again. The facial expressions of the boys is really cool. They are so concentrated. The fact that they look in different directions gives this picture a certain dynamic. Also the background fits well for this picture. A great job!
