  • This was taken near my backyard bird feeders in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. I used a Nikon D5100 with a 70-300mm 4-5.6 lens at 300mm, f/8, 1/250. I strategically placed branch perches around my feeders so I could get a more natural looking shot rather than having the feeder in my photos. Big thanks to everyone who voted! Katie Joya

  • This was shot with a Nikon D3100 at f16 ISO-400 30 second exposure on 7/12/2015 over the Gulf of Mexico from Bayport Florida. This was an intense storm with over 4000 lightning strikes. You can see more of my work at www.rickz.us and http://www.redbubble.com/people/zzenco

  • This shot was taken with a Nikon D750, Sigma 170-500mm lens at 440 mm, f/6.3, 1/320. I took it during a big February snow storm this year in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. The tufted titmouse was happy to have plenty of food available in my feeders during the pretty harsh conditions. Rain and snow can often be the best times to get interesting bird photos. Thanks to everyone who voted! It is much appreciated. Katie Joya
