  • One really gets a good cozy feeling for what life might be like in this little seaside community by looking at this image. The placement of the village in the bottom center of the composition, where it is surrounded by the green hills and blanketed by clouds, helps impart a very stable and secure feel. Excellent timing to catch the light as it comes through the part in the clouds onto the buildings. Nice!

  • The architect who designed this building would surly be impressed with this beautiful night study of their building. It captures very wonderfully the best of the shape and how it fits into it's environment.

  • We appreciated this humorous shot of Super Mario. Has he lost his way? How he holds his head and the sloping angle of the composition help add intrigue to the image and engage the viewer. Nicely done!

  • The purple and orange colors really vibrate in this image with their beauty, but they are held into place by the stability of the composition. Together they create a wonderful tension and image. Excellent!

  • This image works well compositionally and really imparts a feel of the life in that city, with the "Bye" on the shirt leading the viewer into the image and ending up with the women crossing 'blind' because her phone has stolen her attention.

  • Thanks a lot for this mark of excellence. This photograph was taken in New York, and the "bye Hater" on the girls shirt was the trigger for my attention. I photographed this scene with a Leica X. Again, It's an honor to receive this award. Thank you. Rui Caria.

  • For many, the shapes of these little mountains will be quite unfamiliar and astonishing and that creates appeal. The choice of the panoramic format was a good one to present those shapes and the city nestled at the base. The backlighting and capture with the mist (or smog?) helps amplify the aerial perspective which helps convey the sense of space. Nicely done!

  • The idea of repeating and echoing the grouping of the buildings with the people comes across and was a good one and deserved recognition.

  • Thank you for the mark of excellence. This place in Singapore is called "Reflection at keppel bay" a very modern place with amazing buildings bending as if my lens would have a terrible distortion level. Canon 5D, EF 24-70mm 4L
