  • We love this photo for this purple lily. Its great composition, color on the left side - and black-and-white to the right, and especially for the beautiful shadow. Very well seen and executed. Congratulations to the winner!

  • Superb for its composition, and especially how the light comes through. The translucency of the petals make this photo delicate with a touch of magic. This image is one of our favorites of this competition.

  • Something a bit different! These flowers are out of focus. These gladiolus are blurry, almost abstract. And still the observer can see exactly what kind of flowers they are - and the blurriness adds to their special appearance.

  • Thank you very much for this award and for your comments. I am very happy to have 2 of my photographs chosen in the same competition. Wonderful. My name is Alexandre Machado, I am a free-time photographer based in Copenhagen. I have used a Nikon D3X and Nikkor AF 55 2,8 micro for this shot. This photograph is part of my experiments with flowers and motion. I have done some small adjustments in lightroom 4.

  • Lovely arranged and composed are the flowers in this photograph. The black background makes them look mysterious and theatrical.

  • I am a photographer and retoucher based in Los Angeles. This was shot with window light and with a 50mm f/2.5 Canon lens. I wanted to make the final look dramatic and painterly with the post processing done in photoshop. Thanks so much for the recognition!

  • What makes this image so special to the I-Shot-It team is its natural beauty. It brings us right there, to this green field with flowers and a butterfly. We almost can smell the warm air and the fresh grass, and nature and summer.

  • Only now I remember never having commented on this Mark of Excellence. It's very nice that you got the atmosphere just how I felt it. Since I've been the caregiver for two sick parents, for my dad on a daily basis or he would wither away in the home he's placed in, I hardly have time for my photography passion. When I do get out I try to capture the world through my lens as beautiful and cheerful as I can, as balance to the difficult things I have to face each day.

  • This photo is one of the most artistic submissions in this competition. The sepia tones works well and the wet petals give this image a three dimensional appearance. Very well seen and executed.

  • Green and red, both colors which can be found on the complementary sides of the color wheel, work well together in this lovely image. The sun light highlighting some of the fine grass in a superior way. The narrow depth of field is chosen wisely for this capture. It underlines the foreground, the little red flower.

  • A truly lovely close-up photo with these apple tree flower and the bee. The judge loves the intimacy of this capture and how it seems to be divided in the middle, the green and the shadow from the white. We love this photo for all that it shows!
