  • A truly wild moment perfectly captured. It is not just about the killer glare in the fox’s eyes or the crunch timing of this shot but also the scene, the melting snow and the nice short depth of field. It is a great photo and one many wildlife photographers would love to have in their collection. Well done you win this round!

  • I was kindly suprised, when I saw my shot as a winning one. I´m very thankful. This shot was taken with camera canon 7D on a field close to my home town. Thank you very much one more time for the judges comment. More of my pictures can be seen on my website. You are welcome to have a look.

  • Well original shots always attract attention, throw in some good humour and you are sure to go far. This was a firm favorite from the start. I love the way the walrus has his eye on the photographer and the various stories which can be read into what is about to happen :-)

  • Thanks for giving my photo attention and also some very nice comments! This particular walrus was very curious about us and maybe also a little bit too much curious on our inflatable boat. The photo is taken using a Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 70-200 2,8L IS II on a trip to Svalbard in the Arctic Ocean. To see some more of my photos you are welcome to visit my website:

  • Yes another fox which thoroughly deserves this mark of excellence. A beautiful watery eyed pose and lovely light in a nice leafy environment. Well done.

  • This is a lovely tender moment between sea lion and pup which you have composed very sensitively. The specks of sand add to the scene and keep us in the wild. Lovely photograph, well done.

  • You have caught a wonderfully wild hunter’s attitude here, the wild dog's eye, ears and body language leave little chance to its prey. Nice monochrome too which sets off its spotted coat. Great shot, well done.

  • This may be a little blurry but it is a nice panned shot of these running wildebeests. A hard shot to pull off and you have managed to give it the frantic feel of the moment. This photograph makes it ahead of your other entries of the Mara river crossing that we see so often for its originality. Well done.
