  • Huge congratulations on being this months winner I have chosen this image, and it was not easy as we had lots of great entries for this competition, because of its creative and technical strengths. I love the symmetry and also the attention to detail in crafting this final image. The lighting is excellent and post edit work is perfect. Great image and a well deserved win Well done !

  • Tim, thank you very much for your words and feedback. I really appreciate it, I’ve been following your work for many years now and I was always stunned at the shapes and angles you achieved in your photos. Now, regarding this photo, I won’t lie, it was hard work. Is the result of two years of trail and errors, learning, and always pushing myself to be better. Is my second time for me in this contest. First time was about two years ago when I entered with some car snapshots I did, and thought at that time they were really good. Not winning, was a cold shower. This 918 was shot at the dealer’s showroom, in London. I made use of some curtains to block out the window light and use my strobe on the car. I end up with around 20 images that made this final composition. Shot with a Sony A7 and a lot of layers in Photoshop. In the end, I can only say that passion and hard work always pays off. • Amazing work, really love the simplicity of this and its balance Lighting this sort of work is never easy and the photographer has worked with the shape of the car perfectly with the stance that less is most certainly more. Great work and a really nice concept well executed Well done !

  • Thank you for the Mark of Excellence on this shot, Tim. This car was designed by Rick Dore and completely hand built by Marcel and his son Luc De Lay for Metallica's frontman, James Hetfield. I wanted to highlight the long swooping lines of the fenders, the beltline and roadster top in one photo to show off the absolutely amazing profile design that the team came up with. -Johnny O

  • Completely love the feel of this image, the tones, light and balance to the overall shot. Its great to see more non car related images coming through for this and it was in my final 4 shortlist for winner for some time. A tough call to make and a strong image indeed that has been really well executed and has a great feeling to it. Congrats

  • Thanks a lot Boss, i'm very glad one of the only good scene i had the chance to take in my first trip in the Philippines made it trough the top ten,I'm also very thankfull that a non car has been appriciated by your judgment in this categorie. I have to say that i am a big fan of powerfull flash, but i'm learning now the natural light and could'nt pass on this trip to take few clichés of that sort.Your biggest fan!!!! This shot has been done with my D800 and the lens is non other than 18-55dx model, cause i was affraid to bring my good lens there in case of a steal hahaha..they didn't want to insure me .. Post processing didn't much about it, turned the sky on the greenish side a bit and also a bit of dodge and burn on the boat.I just wish the water was a bit cleaner. Thanks again Mr Wallace . Lots of respect for a great business man like you!!!

  • Its different, and thats great ! I love this shot, I like the use of the harsh tones and all the imperfections of the subject really add the feeling and interest to it overall. Simple in its nature but very effective and the colour tones really boost the feel to this, huge congrats on a great image

  • There is a lot going on here and it shows a photographer that has put a lot of effort into the whole feel of this final image. The lighting is really well executed and use of different lighting colour balance works well to really lift the overall final capture

  • Great capture and great lighting I really like the placement on this with the bike and a subdued backdrop. The lighting has been positioned really effectively for the age and condition of the bike to make the most of all the textures and colour and the tones are superb. The shadows on the floor from the lighting really adds a great additional dimension for me. Well done

  • Car detail, you either love to shoot it or your hate it. Its not the easiest element to work with but can be the most rewarding when done well. This is a great capture with really great lighting too. The overall position and angle mixed with the right amount of light and shade across the area make this a great piece of work with much thought given to shoot angle and position which is great too see because these make all the difference Hige congrats, great image

  • Thank you, once again. The same process here too, trying to find unusual angles that works with the shape of the car. Like you said, you either love it or you hate it. I think that especially with car detail photos, the angle and lighting are equal important to make a great image. Shot with Sony A7 and the post in Photoshop. Chris Balo

  • This is a at first glance a simple shot and yet I can appreciate the amount of effort that has gone into this. The lighting works really well with the car and its not been overdone which would ruin the shot. The position is interesting too and works really well as does the addition of the red flare light to the rear. Really well executed shot
