• Thanks so much for the Mark of Excellence and congratulations to the winner! My name is Amy Mitchell and I live in Williams Lake, British Columbia, Canada. After taking an online, self paced photography course last summer I discovered a new passion. I try to read and practice a little bit every day, and plan to take another course this year. This picture is of my daughter wearing a pearl necklace that belonged to her grandmother, shot in natural light from a window. I took this with a Canon Powershot G16 and then processed the RAW file in Lightroom.

• I took this photo of a great egret in a tidal marsh on the Georgia (USA) Atlantic coast. I had to scramble along the edge of the mudflats to get to an angle where the egret was standing in the reflected sunrise. Shot with a Canon EOS 60D camera and a Canon 400 mm lens.

• This photo was taken in Kwa ZuluNatal South Africa. Shot with a Canon70 D,wide angle lens and graduated filters. A blended post processing technique was used

• Just entered this site - and I took the opportunity to add 3 photos to the competition. Very pleased to learn that two of those earned the Mark of Exellence! I'm Mikael from Denmark - Sealand, and i´m an entusiastic amateur photographer. I really like this duck photo, where it certainly also tells a story about the eagerly followed female duck :-)

• I have no website, I'm not really a photographer, I just always loved the different perspectives cameras can give you. Plus in cities and college campuses, at least in NY, squirrels are very approachable. all I did to this picture was crop it and make it monochromatic.

• Just entered this site - and I took the opportunity to add 3 photos to the competition. Very pleased to learn that two of those earned the Mark of Exellence! I'm Mikael from Denmark - Sealand, and i´m an entusiastic amateur photographer. This photo is certainly one of my favorites landscape photos. It was taken in a chill November morning in the western part of Sealand, Denmark!
