  • What a magical image this is, which was chosen as the winner of this Flower competition! It is a well executed photo, with great dynamic and movement. The perfect moment was chosen to capture it. This moment could be a still out of a movie!

  • Soft, dreamy, and mysterious. We love the colours which underline the mood so well, and how it is night time, or maybe early in the morning? The background is out of focus and draws the observers eye to the orange flowers.

  • A moment frozen in time. Lovely to see this bumble bee at work. A great close-up of this situation.

  • Beautiful selective focus, and being so close to these flowers make this one very special. We can almost smell the scent. Great composition as well.

  • My name is Henri Longchamp and I'm living in the northern part of the french south alps, near the italian border. This picture was taken with a Sony DSLR-A550 with a lens DT 16-80 mm f/3.5-4.5 ZA ; focal length was 75 mm, ISO 400 speed 1/2500 f/6.3 no tripod was used and location of this flower was nearby the summit of "pic de gleize" at about 2500 m high. Thus this is definitely not a macrophoto but a proxy one.

  • Such great colours, vivid and rich. It feels like a cool morning on a summer’s day. Great to see the water, rocks, and sky. A truly lovely capture.

  • Edelweiss! I haven’t seen a photo of these rare flowers for many years. At least I can not recall any. We love how the photographer was able to capture the velvety feeling of the petals. The softness and texture.

  • In the Carpathians mountains you can still find these rare flowers. I must say, I was really surprised to see that both photos I've submitted have won an Mark of Excellence award. :) Thank you! Mirela Ciobanescu (Romania)

  • Seing this glorious photo, wants me to lie in the middle of this field of flowers! Somehow it makes me think that this photo was taken in Europe. Rolling hills, with yellow flowers … Memories of my childhood.

  • Striking and abstract, just enough to make out that this is part of a flower. The water drops underline the beauty and bring out a three-dimensionallity.

  • This is one of the most abstract photos, which was submitted to this competition. It is well executed, and beautifully seen. It wants us to see more - to see the entire flower.
