  • Great technique and nice light really make this lokum look delicious, and its creator masterful in the kitchen. This is clean crisp work, well arranged and perfectly done. Well done you win!

  • Many thanks for choosing my photograph. I took this picture at the Royal Horticultural Gardens in Wisley, Surrey. Waiting in line in the cafe I saw a wonderful opportunity as the bright colours and wonderful light contrasted so well. I took this with my trusty Fuji X100S, which managed to get the exact focus I wanted in the few moments available. As it was relatively dark in the cafe, I had to use a wide aperture which gave the lovely focus on the cake in the foreground, without blurring the background too much. I used Lightroom to make minor adjustments, but otherwise I was happy with the initial image straight out of the camera.

  • Hung dried fish. This was an immediate hit for its original approach and by-the-way viewpoint. It is a clever composition which keeps us wondering, nice warm colours too. Well done!

  • Well it was close… That chocolate ice cream on the girl’s mouth and the look on her face as she enjoys and explores the taste. The eating movement of the foreground girl really adds a dimension to this lovely photo. well done.

  • That special moment when you at last get your hands on that hot-dog! This is a super shot from one of New York’s famous street food stands. I love the steamy atmosphere in the stall and the transaction/interaction which is taking place. Apart from that the tones of this b+w shot are so full and deep.

  • Hi my name is sittig fahr-becker. Thank you for the mark of excellence!! The picture was taken at cantine cantona in munich, withe my beloved fuji x-pro1 and the fujinon fx 10-24 mm. I haven't done a lot of post processing, just adjusted the levels a bit. And I hve to say the food is as tasty as it looks.

  • I love the natural reality of this picture, the crumpled napkin, the empty plate and that homely feel. A nice, very familiar and uncomplicated still-life that we can connect with, without the sterility of a studio.

  • Lunch in Madrid. As a documentary photographer, I find interesting things everywhere. In front of me was lunch as served by the waiter. It is a special memory for me as I was spending time with my son. A Nikon D7000 was used, and post processing was done with Lightroom. I am most honored that it received a "Mark of Excellence." Thank you so much, and thank you for your thoughtful comments, Leba Marquez

  • Here’s a cleverly disposed graphic shot with strong contrast and easy shapes. It is almost as though they are swimming in their underwater fantasy heaven, complete with seaweed and coral.
