  • This forest of semi-submerged stumps would look intriguing in any light, but the use of a twilight long exposure has softened the water to create a surreal, ethereal effect. An image like this, though, needs a focal point and what better than a relaxed Canada Goose to complete the sense of serenity.

  • Many, many thanks to I Shot It and Mike Atkinson. The photo was taken after sunset along the Hudson River in Manhattan. It was an 8 second exposure and I was surprised that the goose remained so still that there was virtually no motion blur. The camera was an Olympus OM-D E-M5 with the M. Zuiko 75mm lens.

  • To freeze eagles in such extreme poses in the midst of battle is serious wildlife photography. A complimentary setting adds to the appeal.

  • This photo was shot in Poland, some 2 hours west of Warshaw, where there is a large colony of white-tailed eagles. These two young eagles were fiercly fighting for their prey. My name is Kai Rösler, I am a nature photographer from Switzerland. I used a Canon 1Dx with a Canon 4/500mm telephoto lens, from a hide. Thank you for selecting my shot for a mark of excellence!

  • Thanks a lot Mr. Mike Atkinson and I-SHOT-IT team for selecting my photograph. Congratulations to the Winner! My name is Prathap. I am so delighted to have my photographs featured often in I-SHOT-IT competitions. Great Egrets are always been my favorite birds. On this occasion, there were as many as 20 Juvenile egrets fighting for the food. This is one of the best photograph I have. I made this photograph with Nikon D7100 + 300mm f2.8 lens. • Thank you very much for selecting my photograph! It was taken one evening as I approached Whitford lighthouse on the Gower, Wales. The geese are heading west towards the sunset. Opportune, hand held 1/500, with a Leica M9P with Summicron 35mm lens then cropped just a little. Thanks!

  • This photo was taken near Sulina a city in the Danube delta. We were on a boat on a channel and i saw something moving between the lilys. When we got closer i saw what was actually happening and immediatley pressed the shutter. Out of five exposures only three were focused, one of them you see here. I used a Nikon D7100 and a 70-200 f4.

  • Seeing the ducklings revealed through the foreground vegetation lends a sense of discovery. Their tightly huddled heads are a heartwarming sight.

  • This image was shot with a Nikon D700 and a 70-200mm Nikon lens. This nest was very well hidden in a large flower pot at an old water mill. It was one of our dogs that actually found the nest as it was so well hidden you would walk right past it. Only took a few shots at 200mm as I didn't want to disturb the nest. A few days later they were gone.
