• Thanks a lot for this honor. I am so delighted to get Mark of Excellence. Congratulations to all the winners. My name is Prathap. I took this photo during our photography trip to village near Kabini forest in Karnataka state, India. We visited a family nearby the lake where we were photographing the rural scene. These kids were so excited to pose for the photograph and were pushing each other to fit into the frame :) Those innocent eyes and their wonderful smile will always remain special. I used Nikon D60 and 18-200mm lens to capture this moment. Please visit my facebook page to see more photographs.

 • Thank you for your kind remarks. This was taken with a canon rebel. My Son holding his first born son after his birth. The love between 2 people who have just met was so evident to me. The feeling of peace and security on the baby's face was an incredible shot for me to get..

 • Thank you so much for the acknowledgement! My name is Øystein Günther and I am from Norway. I took this shot as I was watching a soccer game for kids. The little girl lost interest in the game and as she turned around, facing me in gorgeous light and placing her small hand on the fence, the composition was just right. I knew I had to be quick and there was no time to change settings and a couple of seconds later the moment was gone, but I was happy knowing that I got the frame. Equipment used: Canon EOS-1D Mark IV mounted with EF 100-400mm 1/400 sec at f/5,6 ISO 200 with focal length 320mm.

 • I'm Kamran Meyer, an amateur photographer from San Francisco; this image was shot with a Nkon D5100 and a Nikkor 55-300mm lens. Thanks so much for the mark of excellence! This image was shot in Pismo Beach, California during a recent drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles. As we were leaving, I noticed this woman trying desperately to photograph this girl with her smartphone. Lucky for me, the girl was the curious type and focused her attention on my camera instead of the one that was 10 inches from her face. I think it made for a comical moment that is reflective of a world where cameras have become common enough to be ignored.

 •
A portrait of a girl that is framed inside the picture. What happens in the background? Where is she and what has she observed before this photo was taken? It seems that she looks right through the photographer, she doesn´t realize him.

An interesting and thrilling picture that is well executed and has a great light situation.
