  • I took this photo about a month ago on my deck. I must have tried over 6 thousand times since, desperately trying to recreate this photo, maybe getting it a tad sharper but the (Bee is not cooperating) I think it's easier shooting lightening, humming bird. or even a UFO (LOL) I really lucked out that day. Thanks for all the votes!!! Wish me luck in the Macro competition. Again, thanks for the votes and thanks to (I Shot It) I used my DMC-FZ200 -Focal Length 85.8 mm-Shutter speed 1/400 sec -Panasonic w/ Leica lens Thanks, Patrice

    • Thank you very much for choosing my photo for a Mark of Excellence! I am constantly in awe of the amazing talent represented on this site! My name is Lucinda Blenis. This photo is from a session I did for a friend. Believe it or not, the shoot was scheduled for formal pics for her daughter's first communion. The location was at their family farm in N.E. Penn. I shot about 30-40 photos of "Katie" in her white dress and then during a break, she strolled up the lane with her dog, wearing an old cowboy hat, jean shorts and boots! We had a great time in the tall grass with dogs, horses, goats and tractors! I took over 500 photos that day. This was one of my favorites. I always say, "Great portraits are the ones that show up in between the ones people are posing for!" This photo was taken with a Canon T1i with its "straight out of the box" 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 lens. It was cropped and converted to sepia post- process.

        • Hello audience, thank you very much for your voting! My name is Achim Lammerts and photography is a great passion to me for more than 20 years. Beginning in the early 90's I've been much into architecture photography and portraits and nowadays I'm often working on that themes too. In November 2006 I made a tour through the subway system of Munich (Germany) and shot this image at station Candidplatz. I used a Nikon D100 with a 18-70 zoom lens on a tripod and made an exposure bracket. Within the post processing workflow I produced a HDR image and did just some clean up and sharpening. Some other works from this session you'll find at the link below.
