  • Thanks to those who voted for my photo! My two cats love to have mock battles with each other, through the glass of the door. This was one of those happy occasions when my Canon 5D was beside me and ready to shoot when I saw this cat spying on her cat sister, who was inside. Cat Ninja! (Converted to sepia in post processing).

  • How nice to earn two Marks of Excellence too! Thanks to those who voted for this photo. I had been watching some snowy egrets nesting in a big tree when I turned around and noticed this one in the distance, heading for the tree as well. I guessed he'd be flying directly over my head, and luckily I had plenty of time to prepare the settings on my Canon 5D. I captured a series of shots in burst mode, with this being the best.

    • Thanks to everyone who voted for this image. I shot it with a Canon Rebel XT from the rooftop of an office building in Downtown Manhattan. The fog rolled in one early morning over the Brooklyn Bridge and rolled out less than five minutes later. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time.

    • I am an artist and photographer living in San Diego, California. As an artist, still life is a time honored genre which I like to explore in my art. I arranged this still life by placing the half peppers on the reflective glass surface, then shot a series of photos with various compositions, using my Canon 5D. The lighting was indirect natural light. Only minor adjustments in post processing. I call it "Peppers, Parted". Thanks for the votes!!

    • This is titled Boy and Dog. Shot on a 100 degree day in downtown Augusta, Ga using a Sony DSC F717 with a 10x Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonar lens. This is an older camera and only has 5MP. I was about a block away and was lucky enough to capture the precise moment of exhilaration and pose shared by both the dog and the boy. I don't have the meta data on this.

    • Thank you for the votes! My name is Georgia Walters. This picture was taken outside of Eaton, GA and was just a random shot. I had been up in the mountains shooting waterfalls and found this nice little spot on the way home. I'm new to photography (3 months old at the time of this pic) and shoot with a Rebel XT. A little Lightroom 4 post processing and I was done. Thank you again, I'm very honored.
