  • this is a truly unique image. the subject is terrific, and the framing works wonderfully -- centering the window, with the dogs off-center, but the left dog turning inward. an absolutely terrific moment captured expertly. this is definitely a memorable image which works well viewed large or small. an instant fave. very nicely done! ~ illona

  • First place, wow, thank you! This image was captured while on my honeymoon cruise to Alaska. While exploring the small town of Ketchikan, we came across this curious pair watching the passerby’s from a second story apartment window. My wife and I waited and watched for about thirty minutes for the perfect moment. This is the result. Shot with a Canon 5D and 24-105mm F/4L lens – 1/500 sec; f/4.0 ISO 50.

  • this is a fun and unique image. wonderfully framed and an almost comical subject in his/her head-on stare into the camera. the textures are rich -- the bark, the moss, the dog's hair, and the beautiful flashes of orange leaves behind -- making this image the kind that invites the viewer to come back for multiple viewing to see more each time. an instant fave, and definitely a memorable image. nicely done! ~ illona

  • Thank You! This made my day! I didn't use any fancy equipment to get this shot. I used my phone. I was running out the door and Albert thought he would try to hide to avoid going in his crate. I'm a retoucher/digital artist by trade but did very little to this in post other than some sharpening and curves. Thanks again! Such an honor - Ann Neff

  • This photo was taken in the fading afternoon in the woods in Flagstaff, AZ. We were out for a hike when I spotted that patch of light on the ground up on a hill. I knew I needed to get a photograph with it. I had to be quick because the light disappeared so quickly! This was taken with my 5d Mark III, the only post'processing was a slight clarity bump. Thank you for this award! -Emily Fisk
