  • This is a stunning photo! Full of texture and contrast. The selective focus in this photo works superbly. Sharp, crisp and spiky in the foreground - out of focus and soft in the background. It gives the impression, that you can touch it and poke yourself. Congratulation to the winner!

  • Now I am not one to get excited but I will have to admit I did lose a little composure when I saw my photo had been chosen as a winner. I thank you so much for liking my photo with so many beautiful shots to view. This was taken on one of my many early morning walks around my yard. I love dew and make it a practice to go out early to enjoy it. I was using my Canon 40D and 100mm macro lens at f7.1 My name is Cindy Zweiacher I live in Missouri USA and truly do thank you.

  • Diving into a different dimension - this is what comes to the judges minds when looking at this image. The cool blue-grey-white coloration and the superb focus give this photo a special appearance. This is truly wonderful and one of the highlights.

  • Just like pearls, the water appears on this flower. Purple and brown, what an unusual and beautiful colour combination and the composition gives it a special character. It works so well in this photograph.

  • A nice little story being told in this photograph. Not as abstract as others, it is a great image, where it all comes together in a nice way. Colours composition and light makes is look unique.

  • Hi! When I was looking through the other competitors photos I was thinking like: "oh no, mine are not as good as the others". There are so many good photographs. I'm very glad to have at least one mark of excellence! My name is Max, I'm from Austria, I took this shot with my Leica Digilux 3 using a Macro Elmarit R 60/f2.8. It was one of the very first shots with this lens. Taken on a small path beneath the railway, while fooling around a bit. Thank's and have fun, everyone!

  • A great example how something can be changed and look like something else. How a flower becomes fire. Not obvious at all, that this photo has been taken of a flower. It needs a lot of imagination and it looks great how it is.

  • My name is GiGi Peek and I trully enjoy macro photography. It is elegant, aesthetic, simple but complex at the same time!

This image has been taken at Dahlia Festival in Canby, Oregon. Shot with Nikon D800, 105 mm f /2.8 lens and lightly prossesed in Lightroom. It has been cropped but not altered in any other way.

The effect of the fire was created by moving camera while shooting.

  • How curious this little bent flower looks. Like an alien, trying to figure something out. It's not in its prime time anymore, which gives it special character. It comes with a nice depth of field.

Congratulations to all the other photographers who were recognized in this category for their beautiful work.

  • Interesting composition and unusual subject, give this image in this current flower competition a Mark Of Excellence. The irregularities in the plaster of the wall, as well as how the flower grows down the wall, give this photo a well balanced appearance. Also, having the window off centred is an important element to this photo. Well spotted!

  • Last but not least a photo full of happiness and passion! The observer might wonder if the bouquet of flowers is for a birthday, or maybe an engagement or a wedding? One thing for sure, this man seems to be a happy man. The I-Shot-It team wishes him all the best!

  • wow! thanks so much, I am honored. James didn't get to shop for Valentines Day so he stopped by the side of the road and picked this variety of wild flowers, I had to capture the moment, using my Olympus SP-500 UZ. After 35+ years he still surprises me!
