  • love it. the cool tones, the receding line leading to both the subject and its reflection, the contrast of the soft curtain with the strong lines of the window, all make for an instant appeal to this image. but it's the expression captured -- both on the cat and repeated in its reflection -- that make this a truly memorable image. nicely done! ~ illona

  • My name is Nic Chung, i'm a full time Wedding and Fashion Photographer. This is my housemate's cat, her name is Meow Meow. I saw her looking at the window, then i grabbed my Leica M8 with a Leica 40mm F2 Summicron lens and took this picture. I used Lightroom 4 to post process this photo, only slight white balance adjustment to cool temperature toning. Please visit my facebook fan page to view more of my works. Thank you.

  • My name is Lori Lynn, I am from Iowa. The cat in this photo is Shakesphere my darling pet of 14 years. I had to get on the floor and hang out in his world for a while to get this shot. This photo was taken with a 85mm f/1.8 with natural light. Thank you!

  • I am so honored to receive recognition for my FIRST I-Shot-It competition! This is our 6 month old kitten "Chunk". He is one of the silliest and goofiest cats around. I shot this photo one day after arriving home from work. He was up on a wooden beam and due to his playful attitude he will swat at anything that moves including any piece of tree that might be in his way! This is one of the two pictures I snapped that day with my old 20D and 18-55mm combo. Thank you! -Emily Fisk

  • Thank you so much for the Mark of Excellence. My name is Theresa Swain and I am a dog photographer in Calgary, Canada. I took this shot of Tiger as he followed me around while I was taking photos of horses. He was just so perfectly posed in the evening light and tall grass. He looked completely jungle-worthy! I use a Canon Rebel XSI, and a Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L lens. This was at f2.8 and 1/200. I saturated the colors a bit and sharpened in Aperture.

  • This is a picture of a 'rescue' cat named Gina. This was taken in my home, against a white canvas paper. I was trying to get some creative shots to help her get adopted. I used my Canon 5D Mark II with my 70-200 2.8 lens. I had a friend behind me with a toy. I am honored to have the 'mark of excellence' badge from the judges. By the way, Gina has since been adopted. My name is Marianne Molloy and I live in Long Beach, CA
